Summary:

The third bullet point refers to a new footway. For personal safety (perceived and/or real) prefer footway to be immediately adjacent the carriageway.

Education comments
Developments totalling 20 dwellings during the Plan period would generate up to 6 primary aged pupils and up to 4 secondary aged pupils. At primary level Fordham CE VC Primary School, which serves this area, could accommodate this level of growth. Cumulative impact of village expansion could result in need for secondary school capacity expansion.

There is existing capacity in current early years facilities and growth can be accommodated.

COMMENT Fordham Parish Council (Mrs Humphris)

Summary:

Fordham Parish Council think that 20 homes on this site is approximately the right number and represents a fair proportional growth for this rural village. The Council consider that given the existing problems with traffic and speeding through the Village careful thought should be given to road layouts, access and egress to any new development site and that developer contributions should be used for traffic calming measures and to make walking through the Village safer for pedestrians. There is also concern about there being sufficient school places for new families.

Any development of substance should take place nearer to the core of the village (i.e. south of Ram's Farm Road).
Development of the proposed site will merely encourage subsequent infill either side resulting in ribbon development along the length of Plummers Road (and Moat Road).

Summary:

Policies SS8 appears to limit housing developments in the northern villages to either where a development is incomplete, Great Horkesley, or Neighbourhood Plans are underway, West Bergholt and Eight Ash Green etc and this is welcomed.

OBJECT Mr Robert Fletcher

Summary:

Due to the increase in traffic through the village that this would create and at present the lack of speed control's in place to reduce current speeding of cars, van & lorries that use this main road
Therefore increasing the risks of accidents for people and my grandchildren crossing the main road at Moat Rd Moatfields to visit the local park. And not to forget the increase in traffic noise currently very loud at rush hour times morning & evening especially when vehicles are traveling over the speed limit of 30 mph.
