COMMENT mrs lesley scott-boutell

Summary:

We have to have a policy concept for the zoo expansion.
Transport strategy is vital--with highways improvements to the Warren Lane/ Maldon Rd junction and highway safety improvements for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles at the Zoo's entrance/exit. These improvements need to be in place prior to further development
Also building strong links with public transport to the town centre, park and ride and rail stations.
Protection of wild life at the roman river and surrounding area is imperative.
Support strongly a Master Plan approach

COMMENT mr Trevor Westcott

Summary:

6.81
Road improvement is needed at the junction of Warren Lane and Maldon Road where tailbacks occur at any time of day, mainly due to drivers waiting to turn right into Warren Lane, being unable to see the left indicator of cars turning left into Warren Lane and therefore waiting until the slip road is entered before proceeding.

6.80
Continuing protection of sensitive wildlife habitats in the Roman River area is vital.

SUPPORT Mr Mark Lee

Summary:

Protecting the scope of Colchester Zoo is strongly supported. Safer access to the bus stop to travel back into Colchester ought to be secured by footbridge or pelican crossing as a matter of urgency.
