Given the state of the current roads on Mersea, I fail to understand how we can support another potentially 350 houses on the island (with only two access points eg Dawes Lane and East Road and potentially another 700 cars). I have complained on a number of occasions about potholes in roads which have still not been fixed and are dangerous to cyclists, motorbikers and cars (if they hit the pothole). Pavements are in some places extremely dangerous, for those who are not firm footed and therefore how can we possibly support more housing when the current situation is unsupported by the Council.
The doctor's surgery is already busy and such an influx of potentially another 1400 people could mean making appointments even more difficult than it is currently, especially as no agreement appears to have been made about moving to new accommodation. This also raises questions regarding car parking access at the doctors, who currently use the Co-Op car park.
