Rowhedge currently has in the region of 250 units being built which is a 30% increase. Whilst I support these sympathetic developments on brownfield sites, this current addition in the local plan is too much for the infrastructure of the village. There will be serious transport issues as a result (into Old Heath and Colchester). The school is already full as is the school at Old Heath. We have a very good medical practice which will need to absorb the extra capacity of the existing planning developments. Additionally there are flooding problems adjacent to Hillview Close which will undoubtedly cause problems for any future development. Additionally, very old trees will have to be removed to provide access to the site. In summary, our little village (which is about to get significantly larger) will struggle to cope with the extra dwellings suggested in this local plan, in terms of the infrastructure. I strongly suggest that you look to put these 60 houses elsewhere in the borough which is more suitable.
