I do not believe that the infrastructure can support an extra 350 homes which in all likely hood will mean 750 vehicles and quite possibly an extra 1000 people. Mersea Island has one doctosr surgery, one dentist and one school which are already overwhelmed. The parking facilities are totally inadequate as they are and further consideration should be taken by factoring in the influx of tourists which places an additional burden on the infrastructure. Such an increase in population together with the fact that many of these people will be using modern methods of home deliveries will no doubt significantly increase traffic jams due to the fact that there is only one road in and out of the island. Lastly, the sewerage infrastructure was not designed for the current population let alone a further 100 people.
