Representation 723 on Preferred Options Local Plan by Mrs Susan Jenkins

Representation: Mersea Island should be considered a special case when planning the addition of 350 new properties. The seasonal influx of visitors is increasing yearly; the number of residents of static caravans mean that the local amenities, infrastructure and community associations are badly over stretched . Shows, exhibitions and festevals tempt visitors to the Island throught the year. If Mersea Island is to retain its special nature and charm, a limit must be applied to the number of dwellings allowed and changes will have to be made to the infrastructure so that our very special Island isn't changed irreversably.
