Myself and my wife have been residents of Mersea Island for 17 years. We wish to object to the proposal to include two parcels of land to be included in the local plan as suitable for 350 dwellings.Over the 17 years we lived here we have noticed a deterioration in services etc on the island. Parking and traffic conditions appear to be at a maximum and anymore traffic would cause absoute chaos. Water and sewage, we're led to believe that these are at or close to the maximum. Police presence is now zero. The surgery is at maximum, at times you have to wait up to fortnight to get an appointment. We are of course an island with one access road which is flooded on a regular basis, and with the possibility of Bradwell "B" it would be unadvisable to increase the population, who of course would not be able to evacuate in a reasonable time. There are a considerable no of mobile homes and tourers, whose no's are not included in the respective totals of population, and for this reason we believe that we've already reached sustainable nos..
