Representation: The issues are:


Vague, unenforceable promises or douceurs will not do. We must have funded solutions to these problems ahead of any agreement to the "plan"

Original submission

The current population could not be promptly evacuated in the event of a nuclear incident. Adding some 1,000 people makes matter worse.

Emergency vehicles already have access problem. High density development and narrow roads will worsens things.

Solutions to all of these problems need to be sorted, funded and, where appropriate, included in contracts as a prerequisite to any acceptance of CBC's "plan". Failure to do so will lead to civil strife.

Mooted 15% increase in employment opportunities can only happen off-island thus making the B road to Colchester busier and more dangerous.

The medical practice, GPs and nurses barely cope NOW. Don't increase their pain.

The school is full and would need to be expanded.

The water supply and sewerage system are at their limits and will need to be upgraded.

There is a need for starter homes and social housing for current residents
