Representation: Objection of plans due to insufficient infrastructure and employment

Original submission

I wish to place on record my objection to this plan (SS17a - new homes on Mersea Island)
In total you wish to add 11% more housing on Mersea island which is 350 dwellings, which when factored up for persons will be approx another 700-800 persons on the island. The current infrastructure (drainage, electrics, telephone, doctors, dentist, schooling, roads) will not support this uplift. There is no provision in increasing school places, with only one off island secondary school taking children. No extra doctors/dentists sugeries, where at present they are over subscribed and trying to reduce their numbers. The public transport is woefully inadequate at the moment and no plans in the uplift of services. The road network does not support the extra traffic and will cause dangerous bottle necks within East road. The development does not include any generation of employment in the area. The lack of a police station on the island is also a concern, as undoubtably there will be a matched increase in crime.
