I am objecting to this plan to increase the number of houses/residents on Mersea Island due to the following reasons. The infrastructure on Mersea is already falling apart, the school is full, the Gp's are turning away patients, the roads are inadequate, their is not sufficient parking in Mersea, the sewers cannot cope during holiday season, when we have at least 1500 to 2000 extra
Eo pale on the island in the caravan parks, crime has increased yet we have no police prescience on the island, there is only 1 fire engine and most of the firemen are volunteers, if Bradwell B goes ahead, the residents of Mersea would never be evacuated in time of crisis. Same if flooding happens. When the Strood is covered by the tide there is no bus service. 350 extra houses on this island would increase the population by at least another 1500 people, the island would sink. You are not taking into account the amount of people that are living on the caravan parks. If you do have to build then any social housing should go to the residents of mersea not the overspill from London. There are a lot of elderly people on this island and the quality of life for all of us would diminish rapidly. The roads on Mersea are constantly blocked with vehicles, large trucks etc, and the roads are not big enough to take this. Also after the building of Wellhouse estate, this has caused severe flooding to residents jnStable Close du to the waterlogged field in Dawes Lane.
