I object to the plan to build 350 new homes on Mersea Island because:-
The Doctors are already overburdened with the current populace particularly during the summer months when the population doubles.
There are no further school places.
There is already inadequate parking in the centre of the village causing much road congestion.
There is just one road onto and off the Island. Upwards of an addition 1000 or more people will just add more pressure to getting on and off especially in the summer months.
East Mersea is largely unpopulated. Additional housing will only destroy the rural nature of the village and will inevitably lead to further unnecessary development in the future.
There is no meaningful police presence on the Island. This is already a problem particularly in the summer months with speeding cars and motorcycles.
