Representation: There are many elderly residents here and I don't feel that it would be fair for them to fear leaving their homes. Many of them feel happy driving locally but would not be able to cope if there were more cars on the roads. We need to have adequate facilities for the current population of Mersea and not have a substantial increase in population.

Original submission

I object to the building of more houses on Mersea Island. There are not adequate facilities to support growth especially at the school and doctors surgery. Parking generally is a nightmare with the parking at both supermarkets having been badly designed. I live in Upland Road which has just recently been patched up because of all the potholes and it has been very poorly repaired especially all the traffic that uses this road. Mersea has changed quite a lot over the years and although change is necessary, it would be a shame for it to lose its charm. We struggle with lack of emergency services, especially the police and more houses would be detrimental
