Mersea cannot sustain this number of houses and addition in population the doctors surgery and school are already under extreme pressure, there is no senior school here children are bused to TLA which is also now stretched to capacity, the roads ,sewage system are also stretched to capacity the huge number of permanent residents living on the caravan sites has not been taken into account the sites that close for a few weeks in the winter the residents just rent or go away on holiday then come home when they open again. The parking difficulties and lack of police force on the island now means cars parked on pavements and yellow lines make it very dangerous. This is a small island with a need for protection of its uniqueness and environment we also have only one road on and of the island which floods at high tides and with Bradwell power station just across the water we could not evacuate people if necessary.
