I attended the presentation by CBC and Langham Parish Council in July 2016.
I made my views known to a representative of CBC at the time. I now wish to reconfirm those views within this email and for you to record them appropriately.
The proposal to construct 115 dwellings in School Road is inappropriate for the following reasons.
1. 115 extra dwellings is grossly disproportionate in consideration that Langham is a rural settlement and an area which should limited to smaller developments consistent with local community needs.
2. 115 proposed dwellings is inappropriate for a village with limited access to services and facilities and could not be supported by the community for delivering any wider local benefits and is therefore unsustainable.
3. The sewerage system in Langham is already overloaded and property in parts of the village have already suffered flooding from inadequate capacity during wet weather. Already, a tankering service is employed by the Water Utility in an attempt to cope with the capacity inadequacy.
4. Langham has a special rural character it is situated on the edge of the Dedham Vale and should be protected from disproportionate growth which will destroy the village character.
