I am writing to object to the recent proposal by CBC to erect a further 350 additional homes on Mersea Island.
My objections are as follows:
The current road infrastructure wouldn't be able to cope with the additional volume of traffic not only after the completion of the homes but during completion with all the heavy vehicles both supplying building materials and transporting excavated material away.
There will be additional sewerage and wastage problems and we know that there hasn't been any improvement to these over the last 30 years or so.
There will be an increased burden on the school and the doctors surgery with the increase in population and both these facilities are struggling to cope at the moment.
With regard to any benefits to the island I can't see any at all.
