Representation 2557 on Preferred Options Local Plan by Ann Keenlyside

Representation: I question whether Mersea can really cope with an extra 350 dwellings when currently we appear to be bursting at the seams with over flowing needs, school, medical facilities and sewage system too, probably.
If the figure of 3,200 existing residents has been used to calculate this extra number was the impact of the 6 mobile homes sites now with their 11-12 month occupancy also included?
And has a realistic assessment been made of the costs of alterations to the infrastructure?
And what price have the planners put on lost tranquil charm?

Mersea: an unspoilt area of tranquil calm. or is it?
Tranquil charm is easy to destroy but impossible to replace. On Mersea it begins at the Strood, which however inconvenient it may sometimes be, should be treasured as the unique and beautiful entry to this much loved island.
I question whether Mersea can really cope with an extra 350 dwellings when currently we appear to be bursting at the seams with over flowing needs, school, medical facilities and sewage system too, probably.
If the figure of 3,200 existing residents (if that is correct) has been used to calculate this extra number was the impact of the 6 mobile homes sites now with their 11-12 month occupancy also included?
And has a realistic assessment been made of the costs of alterations to the infrastructure?
And what price have the planners put on lost tranquil charm?
