Representation: When the Wellhouse green development was passed 10 to 15 years ago we were assured that this would be the last big development to built on the Island. What has changed since to allow this change of policy? The same inadequate infrastructure is in place; in particular it is unlikely that a second Strood crossing will ever be built. Mersea is full up.

Original submission

My wife and I wish to register our strongest possible objection to the latest proposal for a further 350 houses to be built on Mersea Island.
When the Wellhouse green development was passed 10 to 15 years ago we were assured by Councillor John Jowers that this would be the last big development to built on the Island. What has changed since to allow this change of policy? The same inadequate infrastructure is in place; in particular it is unlikely that a second Strood crossing will ever be built. Mersea is full up.
