I object to the proposal of up to 60 new dwellings on Battleswick Farm based upon the following:
There are already 256 new dwellings being built within Rowhedge that will see the Medical Practice stretched beyond its capacity and for which the local primary and pre-school cannot cater. Adding further properties will only exacerbate this problem.
Increased vehicle traffic will cause additional chemical and noise pollution, longer commute times, congestion where exiting the Village and added parking issues within the Village. A considerable amount of additional cars coming from the proposed properties will amplify road accident risks at the entranceway to the proposed site, the junction of Rowhedge Road into Old Heath Road and a greater hazard to children and parents at the already busy Old Heath school area.
Building upon Battleswick Farm will mean the displacement of biota presently occupying the land and, ultimately, the demise of all wildlife that is unable to relocate or adapt, is destroyed during the site development or is intrinsically dependent on their existing ecosystem to survive.
Furthermore, the land is currently productive farmland, which will be completely eradicated should residential properties be built upon the site. I totally disagree with this happening.
