I am writing in response to the consultation on the local plan.
I do not support the Council's proposal to develop any of the three sites in Braiswick. This is because there is already sufficient housing being built within the Myland and Braiswick local plan area - at Chesterwell Woods and Severalls - and until this has neared completion and there has been a fuller assessment of traffic levels in the area, particularly at North Station, no new housing developments should be approved. The creation of extra traffic down Bergholt Road is also not acceptable where residents are parking on the roadside and it is already difficult to make progress along the road at certain times.
There are insufficient green public spaces within the Braiswick area and building on these areas are against the principles of sustainable living where people living in smaller dwellings with small or no gardens are denied the access to quality public open space. These spaces should be protected and used as community spaces given that Braiswick doesn't have any such recreational spaces at the moment.
