I am writing to you regarding the proposed development on Mersea Island , whilst we all appreciate there is a need for a increased housing in general, however the most important consideration before embarking on any development is to investigate the infrastructure of the existing area , my foeling is that there has heen little or no thought put into this subject

I have great concerns on this subject and would like to highlight some that are current at tbe moment , and others that will be affected by the proposed development of 350 houses with a 10 percent increase in population.
Doctors, currently oversubscribed. Denti s , running at full capacity.
Sew ,and water supply running at full capacity. Sc!moling_,running at full capacity.
Parking ,inadequate at present .impossible during summer peak . Roads ,inadequate at present dangerous during summer peak.
§trnod, long delays and traffic queues during high tides , recent example regarding delays was when temporary traffic l ight malfunctioned.

Ru bbish collection, already heing cut back to fortnightly collections.

There will be otber problems that will develop during construction regarding the presence of heavy construction vehicles moving around the narrow roads on Mersea.

l am hoping that you will seriously take all these issues into consideration before you decide on your future plans for future development on Mersea Island.

yours sincerely
Robin R Passfiedl
