Original submission

As a visitor to Mersea Island since 1960,and as a home owner since 1970 I regard the proposed build of 3SO houses as over kill for such a small community.

The island has soaked up an enormous amount of building in the last SO years, but this large amount of new homes with no increase in facilities will cause problems in all areas of living on the island:
1. Lack of schoo places in under 12's, plus daily commute for secondary education
2. Increased pressure on already stretched Doctors
3. Increased pressure on already stretched health services, dentists, clinics etc.
4. No police station on the island
S. Road structure
6. Parking facilities
Without the infrastructure of the island goingthrough a radical change building this large amount of houses, should not be considered.

By building this number of homes the whole ambience of Mersea will be changed, not for the better.

yours sincerely
K E Cort (Mrs)
