Representation: The current facilities struggle to cope with the existing demand. Where is the foreseen employment of this additional population? There is no apparent increase in commercial/industrial development and Colchester has numerous empty shops, in fact it is fast becoming an unappealing town centre

Would you expect a builder to start building a house before he had laid the foundations?
Of course not! Then why are you even considering this before completing the associated infrastructure. The current facilities struggle to cope with the existing demand. Where is the foreseen employment of this additional population? There is no apparent increase in commercial/industrial development and Colchester has numerous empty shops, in fact it is fast becoming an unappealing town centre.
I understand that these building programmes cascade down from Government to County to Borough Councils without any thought on the implementation which leaves the latter with a thankless task. But surely there comes a time when one must say enough is enough. To consider and act upon the wishes of the people that elected you to consider and act upon our wishes. Stand up to bureaucracy.
