Representation: 350 new homes will mean 700 more cars and 1,000 plus more people. Local services, GP, School, parking and state of the roads will not sustain this level of development. Utilities may not cope either.
What are the evacuation plans for Mersea in the event of an alert at Bradwell Power Station? Bradwell B is planned.
Altogether a pleasant community will be ruined.

Original submission

The plan states that the community is able to sustain the level of growth proposed, yet the school is full and the GP surgery cannot cope with the existing numbers of patients which swell with holidaymakers and visitors over the summer months. Parking is a huge issue here on the island, as is the state of the roads. 350 new homes is likely to see an additional 700 cars and 1,000 people, how can this be absorbed into the existing services. A grave concern is evacuation from the island should there be a problem at Bradwell Power Station across the Blackwater estuary, especially as Bradwell B is planned. Getting off the islans when there is a high tide is not possible, so how do the Planners propose to address this issue?
