Representation: Mersea Island cannot take more houses

Original submission

I object to the development proposed on West Mersea.
ie the building of 350 new homes.
There is as you are aware only one road onto the island and this is not passable at certain times of the month due to flooding by high tides.
It would be irresponsible to enclose upwards of 10,000 people down one road. This is even more unsuitable with the current possibility of a new nuclear reator at Bradwell. Evacuation of the area would be impossible. There are also issues with the sewage plant which appears to be struggling at time now given the frquency of tankers unblocking feed sewers. The Doctors are barely coping now. The police station is now closed. The school is at capacity. Parking in the town is already a problem.
This is a very ill concieved plan and shouild be abandoned.
