Representation 1736 on Preferred Options Local Plan by Jill Stebbing

Support / Object: OBJECT
Document Link: Preferred Options Local Plan - Sustainable Settlements, Mersea Island, SS17a: Mersea Housing and Employment
Representation: The large number of houses proposed would have significant adverse impact on the island. The school site is already full, further expansion would mean loss of outside area available for sport while increasing the number of children needing access to such areas.
Increasing the island population by such a large percentage would add to the pressure on a doctors' surgery already struggling to cope with the current population.
The developments proposed would cause a significant increase in traffic, potentially another 700 cars on an island with poorly maintained roads an insufficient parking.
