With regards to extending existing caravan parks. I feel this is being looked at in isolation and not taking into account the impact this will have on already strained services within West Mersea. Our Medical Centre is already under pressure with patients waiting a long time for appointments. With the caravan sites now extending their licencing to 12 months can the council guarantee that people will not simply permanently live on the parks? and what systems are in place to ensure that this does not happen?.
The largest of the caravan sites Coopers Beach has a significant area, category 3 flood risk and I believe the flood area as stated by the EA understates the real risk of serious flooding
Increase in numbers will also have a detrimental impact on the Strood and roads.
