Representation: I am very concerned that there has been no public consultation on the amended Boxted Neighbourhood Plan, particularly because the number of proposed properties is now unspecified and your Policy SG7 expects the plan to require more growth than the Local Plan.
We have a very poor bus service which is not guaranteed to continue. Cycling is dangerous on the 3 mile Straight Road and there is no footpath after Mill Road. (2.26)
At present, new families are unable to enrol their children into Boxted School. (2.27)
We have no medical facilities, shop, pub or post office. (2.27)

I am very concerned that there has been no public consultation on the amended Boxted Neighbourhood Plan, particularly as the number of proposed properties is now unspecified. Taken in conjunction with your Policy SG7 'while Neighbourhood Plans are not required to promote growth, where they do intend to, the plans should aim to promote additional growth to that promoted in the Local Plan....' The local plan gives a figure of 36. An unspecified number could therefore be more.
We have a very poor bus service which is not guaranteed to continue. Cycling is dangerous on the 3 mile Straight Road and there is no footpath after Mill Road. (2.26)
The new Boxted school was built in 2005 and has since been extended but there are several families in the village unable to enrol their children there and have to transport them to other schools. If the children in the proposed development are not be able to be accommodated in Boxted school even though it will be literally across the road, they will be travelling unnecessarily. (2.27)
We have no medical facilities, shop, pub or post office. (2.27)
As there are not a lot of employment opportunities in Boxted, this will be more travelling into other towns or the station. (2.29)
Justification of the required new development is based on 2012 demographic projections but in 2014 the Boxted development appeal decision (refusal) stated 'Even where it is shown that the site is no longer needed for employment uses Colchester has an adequate amount of land allocated for residential use and can meet our five year supply target. At this time no further sites are needed.......'(2.35)
