We support Policy SS5 and the proposed allocation of land to the west of Hall Road as being an easily accessible and well connected site having the benefit of an established infrastructure and services.
New housing development will be of high quality and designed to be compatible with surrounding development and will be supported by highways and footway improvements. There are no known constraints to development and the allocation of this site will make a proportionate and appropriate contribution to meeting Colchester's objectively assessed housing need as assessed by Policy SP2.
An archaeological ground survey has been undertaken to address and clarify any archaeological issues. Investigations are ongoing in consultation with the Borough Council's Archaeological Officer. Any findings will be reported after the end of the consultation period and suitable mitigation measures agreed and submitted with any subsequent planning application.
