I wish to object to the massive proposed development of 350 houses on two sites on Mersea Island. The island and infrastructure just cannot cope with this type of expansion on top of the 100 plus homes already built in the Wellhouse site which already feeds sewage into our old drains and sewer pipes. East Road from which the sites would enter and leave is already in very poor ,rough condition. Dawes lane is not wide enough to take the huge increase in traffic which would ensue.Ther is already an acute shortage of parking spaces in West Mersea so a new large car park is required to help cope witht he chaos. Our surgery has trouble recruiting new GPs adding to the problem of getting a doctors appointment. The school is at bursting point with the increased population already. since the holiday caravan parks have been granted twelve month occupancy status we now have an added population of permanent residents flouting the rules by living here full time and also registering at the Doctors.this is an ill conceived plan put forward by ambitious developers and seemingly backed by councillors who know little if anything about our small but closely knit island.

Yours faithfully
R.BSharpe
