Whilst I appreciate the need for new homes I would argue that Rowhedge - a thriving village community - has already taken more than its fair share with 170 new homes currently under construction and planning approval already given for a large number in Phase 2. The village is being swamped already and further building will detract from its character. Other villages should take more of a share - particularly places like Dedham which has some areas that really are not of outstanding natural beauty. Despite the existing expansion there is no improvement of infrastructure - the roads, doctors surgery, school, sewerage etc are already at capacity. I am concerned that the proposed building is on a greenfield site - sustainability surely encompasses the need to grow food locally. There is no work in the village - the road traffic generated will therefore have an enormous impact especially at peak times. Rowhedge really is a special place - no-one comes here by mistake as there are no through roads and it has a real community feel which we are in danger of losing to large scale development.
