RE: OBJECTION TO COLCHESTER BOROUGH COUNCIL DRAFT LOCAL PLAN 2017 TO 2032
Iam writing further to the consultation period currently open for the Draft Local Plan 2017 to 2032 and wish to object on the following grounds.
We request that the land the older poultry buildings 'sit' on at Grassreasons Poultry Farm, Newbridge Road, Layer Marney, COS 6XT (as shown hatched on the attached plan) be included for residential development.
The site is similar to a brownfield site, the development of which to residential is encouraged by the Government. Planning permission has been obtained for the redevelopment of the site as a larger poultry unit. The removal of the poultry unit would benefit neighbouring properties.
In addition the owners have obtained planning permission for 2 detached dwellings (shown dotted) and a new access on land to the eastern end of the farm and a further 2 dwellings have been permitted to the north of the site as an infill plot.
The site is has public transport available to local towns and there is local support for reuse. Should you require further information then please do not hesitate to contact me.
