Ashpark House proposed houses:
There is already a huge amount of development in Colchester and the surrounding areas that little green land will soon be left. I fail to see a need for additional expansion into the green belt south of the town.
We moved to Abberton to be in tranquil village location in the country, having lived in the town for years and in need of quiet. Any development, which would be 10m from our house would severely impact on our lives and well-being, and of those who have chosen to invest in seeking a peaceful rural life.
Privately owned Glebe Lane is a limited road with deep ditches and is unsuitable for increased traffic coming this route. The mature trees & hedgerow along Glebe Lane host many native species, such as breeding nightingales, adders and deer. Developing on this site will impact on these this species.
Finally, Abberton & Langenhoe have absolutely no facilities within safe walking distance and the local primary school and nearest GP surgery are already over-subscribed. Increasing the population will lead to yet more frustration and possibly inefficiency.
