Representation: There are already over 200 properties currently under construction in the village and further development will put additional undue pressure on local amenities such as the doctors surgery, school and pre-school.

The considerable increase in traffic will further add to existing congestion in the village.

Wildlife will see their habitat disappear to make way for housing.

These points will all have a negative impact upon the village environment.

Original submission

We object to the development of the Battleswick Farm site on the following grounds:

There are already over 200 properties under construction in the village, putting pressure on the school and doctors surgery. Further development will only exacerbate the problem meaning that local children may well have to travel outside the village to attend primary school. The school is at the centre of the village, both geographically and as part of the community and to deny some children this experience is not acceptable.

Traffic congestion has increased considerably over the years and additional housing on this site will only serve to put more pressure on already busy roads. In addition, linking the development with Hillview Close via a footpath will increase the footfall in what is currently a quiet residential street.
Since there is housing the entire length of Hillview Close adjacent to the proposed site this access will surely have to cross the rear garden of the of them. This is surely not acceptable.

Removal of hedges will lead to a decline in widlife as their habitat is lost for ever.
