Original submission

I am writing to voice my objections against the planning policy CBC which proposes to further Mersea Island by building 350 houses near East Road and allowing extensions to Caravan sites.

The reasons for my objections are as follows

1. The population will increase by 1/7 which will an 1000 plus more people. This will increase the need for further development of shops, schools, amenities such as children's playgrounds, bus services and health care services

2. There is only one road on and off the Island which only just copes with the small population of Mersea Island and the roads are small which means an increase in population will mean the need for further road development.

3. The road/Strood often floods at high tide which access onto and off the Island is restricted.#

4. Mersea Island has a low crime rate and an increased population would mean that a full time/ 24 hour police service to serve the Island would need to be employed.

Please note my objection to this plan.

kind regards

Andie Todd
