I object to possible future developments in Abberton, especially the Ashpark field which would affect our property.
We have lived here for 23 years and have seen a lot of wildlife in this field behind us. Every year the Nightingales come to the opposite side of the field, in Glebe Lane. We have seen both Fallow and Muntjac deer, foxes with young, hares, rabbits, hedgehogs, grass snakes, pheasants and many more animals, butterflies and insects etc. The traffic has increased enormously in that time and is sometimes difficult to exit our driveway especially in rush hour and school times.
Both possible entrances are privately owned and very narrow, the Ashpark entrance is only a shared entrance belonging to Highfields and Glebe Lane is a single track, unmade road, with ditches, certainly no room for anymore traffic especially on dustbin day when all the refuse and recycling is piled up at the entrance to Peldon Road.
Traffic is already a problem in Mersea Road as you get nearer Colchester and with proposed housing on Mersea Island this will add to the already congested traffic problem.
We moved to Abberton Village to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside around here and hope to continue to enjoy our life here.
