I strongly object to the proposal for additional housing to be built on Mersea. The Island is unique in that it IS an Island accessed by only one road which is affected twice daily by the tides, and often cut off by the tides. Extra people and cars would affect the roads on the Island which are under pressure already as is the Doctors Surgery, the School and the shops. Limited local employment means commuting traffic into Colchester. Water and Sewage would have extra pressure. Services already have to deal with population increases due to holiday parks.
